GoLucid Field Notes: PhotoTap Inc.

GoLucid Field Notes:

PhotoTap Inc. focuses on turning event photography into real‑time engagement while the event is still happening. Their goal is to make professional photos instantly useful for attendees and organizers instead of something delivered days later.

Met David Cohn (CEO, PhotoTap) at Event Tech Live and talked through what he calls the “digital dust” problem, where event photos arrive too late to matter. David shared how a photographer takes a photo, taps the guest’s credential or phone, and the image is delivered within seconds. The photo is automatically branded, sent directly to the attendee, and appears immediately in the organizer’s dashboard.

PhotoTap removes the need for attendees to download an app and makes sharing friction‑free. The experience is designed to work at scale for conferences, festivals, and brand activations where visibility and timing matter. Organizers get real‑time insight into usage and sharing, while attendees leave with a professional asset they can use immediately.

In CECI’s evolving framework, solutions like this may relate to Engagement, Experience, and Enablement Technology and Event Intelligence Technology, but ultimately, category fit is for vendors and the community to help clarify as the model matures.

I am Josiah Taulbee, and I started CECI to help the industry understand what event technology vendors actually do. Research and industry awareness only, no promotion or recommendations.
